The risk of prioritizing usability over proper legal assurance
Many digital signature platforms prioritize efficiency over legality. Yes they are efficient, but were they designed to be defensible in court? An unqualified electronic signature may lack robust evidentiary value. If challenged, the burden of proof in terms of proving its authenticity will lie with you.
Moreover, if your supplier is not controlled by an EU-resident company (e.g. has a parent company in the US), your confidential contracts could be exposed to extraterritorial laws (e.g. US Cloud Act). In short, a generic signature solution can generate a false sense of security while leaving legal risks uncovered.

Frequently Asked Questions
Signature Manager is EADTrust’s electronic signature solution designed to provide legal certainty to your signature processes, combining ease of use with a robust evidence dossier. Designed by Garrigues and deployed on a European sovereign cloud, it allows you to sign documents with full guarantees and real-time monitoring.
The difference is fundamentally legal and jurisdictional. Platforms domiciled in other jurisdictions operate under legal frameworks that are technologically neutral. In the US, for example, the E-Sign Act and UETA Act allow for any type of electronic signature, no matter how it is generated or what technology it uses. In contrast, the European Union has a regulatory framework that requires greater guarantees in order to admit the validity of an electronic signature. Signature Manager operates in accordance with the European eIDAS Regulation, which ensures the legal validity of signatures in the European Union. In addition, our European sovereign infrastructure protects you from the extraterritorial scope of laws such as the Cloud Act, something that US providers cannot guarantee, even when acting through a European subsidiary.
The signing process with Signature Manager is simple and secure: configure the flow (simple signature or advanced signature with two-factor authentication, and whether documents are to be signed in parallel, sequentially, or a combination of both), add participants (signatories, observers, and validators), upload the documents, and activate the sending process. Each signatory receives a secure link by email (and via WhatsApp too, if you wish). They do not need to register or install anything and can sign the document using any device. The system applies the required authentications according to the chosen level (e.g. OTP code by SMS). Once completed, you get the signed document and an evidence certificate signed by EADTrust that includes the full traceability of the process, providing robust electronic proof and legal validity.
Yes. We can support sequential, parallel and combined signature flows, both by document or package of documents to be signed and by signatories or group of signatories. We can also add pre-signature validators for any signatory that so requests, for example, so that their internal or external legal counsel can pre-verify what they are going to sign.
Yes, EADTrust is registered on the official lists of the Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service and of the European Commission.
Simple and advanced signatures with two-factor authentication (OTP). We will soon be expanding the signature range to include certified advanced and qualified signatures.
Both types of electronic signatures, simple and advanced, have legal effects and are valid according to the eIDAS Regulation. The regulation itself establishes that an electronic signature cannot be rejected as evidence in court solely because it is not a qualified signature.
However, an advanced signature offers a higher degree of legal certainty regarding its authenticity, as it meets the eIDAS Regulation requirements of being uniquely linked to and capable of identifying the signatory, of being controlled by the signatory, and of being linked to the signed data, and is the appropriate signature for most corporate processes.
The EU eIDAS Regulation recognizes the legal validity of all types of electronic signatures: simple, advanced and qualified. This means that no signature can be denied admissibility as evidence in a legal proceeding solely because it is not a qualified signature. However, each type of signature offers a different level of trust. A qualified signature is the only one that has the same legal value as a handwritten signature and in order to be valid it must be made using a qualified certificate on a secure device, such as a token. An advanced signature, while not legally equivalent to a handwritten signature, provides a high level of security because it meets the four requirements set out in article 26 of the eIDAS Regulation: it is uniquely linked to the signatory, it is capable of identifying the signatory, it is created using data under the sole control of the signatory, and it ensures that any subsequent change in the signed data is detectable. Finally, a simple signature is also legally valid, but its level of security is lower than that of the other two.
Yes, Signature Manager complies with the requirements set out in the EU eIDAS Regulation, which regulates simple and advanced electronic signatures. This solution is designed to meet European digital trust and identification standards and is provided by EADTrust, a qualified trust service provider supervised by the Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service. This ensures that Signature Manager operates under the highest levels of security and legal compliance required by current regulations.
You can sign all types of documents using Signature Manager. The only difference is that, where it is not a PDF document, the signature will be placed on a separate signature sheet. The signed document is univocally linked to the signature sheet using the hash code of the signed document, which is evidenced and securely stored on the platform.
When the document to be signed is in Word format, you will be asked if you want to convert it to PDF format or if, on the contrary, you want to generate a signature sheet as with any other document.
This functionality is especially useful for signing attachments in technical formats or multimedia files. Moreover, if a signing process includes documents in different formats, this is not a problem and each document is signed in the expected way.
You can add unlimited documents and signatories if you're a human. If you use a robot or need mass processing, give us a call, we have an API that is sure to meet your needs.
Signature Manager has been designed as a true digital "bunker" to protect the most critical electronic transactions. Its architecture combines sovereign technological infrastructure, European legal certifications and evidence-oriented legal design, ensuring maximum protection of personal data and signed documents. One of the key pillars is the exclusive use of Oracle’s sovereign cloud, a 100% European cloud that ensures that data does not leave the EU jurisdiction. In addition, Signature Manager is operated by EADTrust, a qualified trust service provider (QTSP) registered on the official EU list. This means that it meets the highest standards of legal certainty under the eIDAS Regulation.
During the signing process, and once completed, the documents can only be accessed by the people directly involved in the defined flow: the process manager, the signatories and, where applicable, the designated observers and validators.
If a signatory fails to complete their part of the process, the document can be downloaded with the signatures that have been obtained up to that point. In addition, an intermediate certificate of completion is generated containing the available evidence, allowing the legal traceability of the process to be preserved even if it has not been completed in its entirety. Please refer to the manual you received when you signed up to learn how to generate intermediate certificates.
