A time stamp is a protocol for recording the exact moment in time an electronic transaction took place or the exact time that an electronic file came into existence.
Qualified time stamps are digital evidence with evidential value. They enjoy a legal presumption in all Member States, meaning that any time stamp issued in one European Union country will be recognized in the other 26, in accordance with article 41 of the eIDAS Regulation.
