Public employee certificate
EADTrust’s public employee certificate is a digital certificate that allows for electronic authentication of and signature by civil servants, labor, statutory and authorized personnel of the public authorities, in the exercise of their duties for such authority.
It allows the subscriber to identify themselves in the scope of their activity as a public employee or officer of the legal person in a secure and reliable way, by linking their private key to the respective public key contained in the certificate. It also makes it possible to guarantee the integrity of documents signed by subscribers in their capacity as public employees or officers and to prevent them from being able to repudiate any document later on, refuting its authorship or integrity.
Applicants for certificates may be:
- Natural persons acting for and on behalf of the public authority where a relationship is established by virtue of an appointment or designation as a public employee.
- Legal representatives of the public authority requesting the certificate for employees.
The subscriber, i.e., the holder and person responsible for using the certificate, will be the employee authorized by the public authority to receive and use the certificate.
To obtain this certificate you will need:
- The identity document of the natural person: DNI / NIE.
- Evidence of their appointment to their current public position.
You must also provide the following information:
- Identification as a public employee (NRP or NIP/pseudonym).
- Position held by the public employee within the public authority.
- Unit/department of the public authority to which the public employee belongs.
- Unit DIR 3 code (common directory of organizational units and offices) for public employees.

ADVANCED ELECTRONIC SIGNATURE BASED ON A QUALIFIED CERTIFICATE:
EADTrust will send you the terms and conditions contract for the provision of the requested service. You will need to sign it using an advanced electronic signature based on a qualified certificate and send it back to us along with the mandatory documentation, which must also be signed. You can use the electronic ID card (DNI electrónico) or any other form of signature based on a qualified certificate issued by a provider. AUTHENTICATION BY A NOTARY:
You will need to go to the notary with the terms and conditions contract, identify yourself and sign the contract in the presence of the notary, so that the notary can attest to the authenticity of your signature. Once signed, you will need to email us the contract together with the notarial attestation. Foreign companies will also need to attach the Hague Apostille.
