Legal person representative certificate

EADTrust’s legal person representative certificate is a digital certificate that allows for electronic authentication of and signature by natural persons who are linked to a legal person by reason of their appointment as legal representative, director or attorney-in-fact.

It allows the subscriber to identify themselves in the scope of their activity as legal person representative in a secure and reliable way by linking their private key to the respective public key contained in the certificate. It also makes it possible to guarantee the integrity of documents signed by subscribers in their capacity as legal person representative and to prevent them from being able to repudiate any document later on, refuting its authorship or integrity.

They are valid from 1 to 4 years.

Who can request one?

Natural persons acting for and on behalf of a legal person where there is a contractual relationship specifying the scope of the representation.

Who can be a subscriber?

The subscriber, i.e., the holder and person responsible for using the certificate, will be a natural person who can prove their identity and appointment as representative by means of a power of attorney or any other means admitted by law.

What documentation do I need?

To obtain this certificate you will need:

  • Your national identity card (DNI, NIE).
  • Documents that confirm the identity or existence of the legal person to be represented:
  • Tax identification number of the entity/public authority (CIF/NIF/VAT).
  • Address of the entity/public authority.
  • Contact telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of the managers of the entity/public authority.
  • Documents evidencing the representation relationship with the legal person in question.
  • Notarized power of attorney evidencing the current representation.
  • A sworn statement declaring that the power of attorney is in force and has not been previously revoked.
