Regulation
Regulation of digital trust services is essential to ensure their legal validity
A “qualified” service is one that meets the strict standards set by legislation such as the eIDAS Regulation in the European Union. Qualified services confer enhanced legal effects, such as presumption of authenticity and validity in court. This means that electronic signatures, time stamps and other qualified services not only meet technical requirements but also provide additional legal certainty, ensuring they are recognized and accepted in all EU Member States.
